South End of Coquina Beach Temporarily Closed After Overnight Heavy Rain
The south end of Coquina Beach has been temporarily closed following heavy rain overnight that created unsafe conditions in the area.
Officials said crews are continuing to monitor conditions and the closure will remain in place until conditions improve. Other parking lots and sections throughout Coquina Beach remain open and accessible to visitors at this time.
Beachgoers are encouraged to use caution while visiting the area and follow all posted signage and directions from staff.
The temporary closure comes as periods of heavy rain continue across Manatee County during the early stages of Florida’s rainy season. Officials thanked the public for their patience and understanding while conditions are assessed and managed.
