Southwest Florida Honor Flight is inviting the community to gather at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, to welcome home 90 veterans returning from Mission XXV, the organization’s 25th Honor Flight mission.
The veterans, representing World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and other periods of military service, will return to Southwest Florida following a special trip honoring their service and sacrifices.
The homecoming celebration is expected to bring together families, friends, community members and supporters for an evening of patriotic recognition and appreciation.
The veterans are scheduled to arrive at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport at 9 p.m. aboard Allegiant Airlines charter flight 4934, traveling from Washington Dulles International Airport.
Organizers encourage attendees to arrive early to enjoy food trucks and other activities before the veterans return. Community members are invited to wear red, white and blue and help create a memorable welcome for those who have served the nation.
Southwest Florida Honor Flight is part of a national network dedicated to transporting military veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit memorials honoring their service. These trips provide veterans with an opportunity to reflect on their experiences, connect with fellow service members and receive recognition for their contributions to the country.
The homecoming celebration is a significant part of each mission, allowing the community to express its gratitude as veterans return from their journey.
Attendees are encouraged to carpool and follow parking instructions provided by airport staff to help accommodate the anticipated crowd.
The event is open to community members who wish to participate in welcoming the veterans home.
