Four Teams Remain Undefeated in Anna Maria Island Adult Soccer League
After two weeks of action, four teams remain undefeated in the adult soccer league at the Center of Anna Maria Island. Floridian Mortgage and Moss Builders lead the standings with 2-0 records, while Coaster Continent and Moss Air follow closely at 1-0, each with a game in hand.
Gulf Drive Cafe, MI-Box, Reel Coastal Properties, and Ross Built hold matching 1-1 records, while Slicker’s Eatery, Slim’s Place, and Solid Rock Construction round out the standings with 0-2 records.
Jan. 16 Game Recaps
Reel Coastal Properties dominated Slim’s Place with a commanding 33-6 victory. Zacharieah Anabtawi contributed two touchdown passes and a receiving touchdown, while Ben Jones added two TD passes. Sequiel Marintez secured three TD receptions and a passing TD, with Ramon Guerrero IV adding a touchdown grab.
Slim’s Place managed a single touchdown, a pass from Richard Fosmore to Bri Shaughnessy.
In a tightly contested match, Gulf Drive Cafe edged out Slicker’s Eatery 33-32. Jeremy Rodriguez shone with four touchdown passes and one receiving touchdown, while Steven Pavina added a touchdown pass and two receptions. Jaden Grant and Kiatrell Zachery also contributed touchdown catches.
Slicker’s Eatery saw Dominick Otteni throw four touchdown passes and catch one, with Brandon Rolland securing two TD catches. Donte Filletti recorded a TD pass and catch, while David Lopez added another touchdown.
Floridian Mortgage secured a 40-25 victory over Solid Rock Construction, led by Chase Richardson's six touchdown passes, including three to Tim Holly. Cameron Reinke added two TD receptions, while Kevin Roman contributed a TD catch and two defensive interceptions.
Solid Rock Construction saw Tuna McCracken throw three TD passes and rush for a score, with Connor Ludwig, Brooke Capparelli, and Tyler Brewer each adding a touchdown catch.
Coaster Continent outscored Ross Built 38-27. Matt Manger threw four touchdown passes and rushed for two scores. Anthony Mannino, Dina DeJesus, Octavious Cole, and Travis Bates each caught a touchdown.
Ross Built's efforts were led by Daniel Vonborstel with three TD passes and Jake Ross with three TD receptions. Miguel Rodriguez added a TD pass and reception.
Moss Builders closed the evening with a 35-8 win over MI-Box, with Ryan Moss throwing four touchdown passes and rushing for one. James Roadman and Logan Heath each caught two TDs, while Karri Stephens recorded a safety sack.
MI-Box scored with a touchdown pass from Matthew Briley to Jackson Hayes, with Christian Hampton adding a two-point conversion.
Youth Flag Football Kicks Off
The center’s youth flag football league kicked off Jan. 13 with competitive action across age divisions. The 11-13 and 14-17 divisions saw full games, while the 8-10 division engaged in a practice jamboree with no official scores.
In the 11-13 division, Poppos Taqueria defeated Shady Lady Horticultural Services 32-20, with Tyler Higman throwing five TD passes. Jiffy Lube triumphed over Sandhoff Construction 53-13, led by Luke VanDuinen's five TD passes.
Sato Real Estate secured an 8-2 victory over Salty Printing, while Cortez Florida Vacations dominated Solid Rock Air Conditioning 31-13 in the 14-17 division. Solid Rock Electrical edged out HSH Design 7-6 in a defensive battle.
Horseshoe Action
Horseshoe games on Jan. 15 at Anna Maria City Hall saw Tim Sofran and Adin Shank clinch a 24-0 victory. Sofran continued his winning streak on Jan. 18 with a perfect 3-0 record.
Matches are held at 9 a.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays with warmups beginning at 8:45 a.m.
Key Royale Club Updates
The Key Royale Club hosted its annual Men’s President’s Cup tournament on Jan. 15, with Dave Richardson claiming first place with 36 points. Regular matches on Jan. 13 and Jan. 14 saw competitive play, with standout performances from John Hackinson and Sue Wheeler.
