Sugg Middle School Hosts Volunteer Day to Improve Garden with Support from United Way Suncoast
Sugg Middle School is inviting community members to participate in a volunteer event on Saturday, October 11, to help enhance the school’s garden. Volunteers will assist with the installation of a new irrigation system to support the school’s Urban Agriculture and FFA Farm programs.
The effort is supported in partnership with United Way Suncoast, which helps strengthen the school’s living classroom model. The program provides students with opportunities to learn about healthy eating, sustainability, and the importance of community engagement through hands-on agricultural experiences.
Organizers stress that no gardening experience is necessary, making the event accessible to anyone interested in lending a hand. The project aims to expand the educational reach of the garden while building stronger ties between the school and the community.
By improving the garden's infrastructure, Sugg Middle School and United Way Suncoast aim to continue fostering collaboration, teamwork, and environmental awareness for the benefit of students and families throughout the area.
