Suncoast Credit Union Foundation Gifts $10,000 to the Early Learning Coalition of Manatee County
The Early Learning Coalition of Manatee County (ELC) is honored to receive a charitable gift of $10,000 from the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation. The funds will be used to purchase new children’s books and early learning materials for local families and classrooms, as well as to support various ELC programs. Over the next year, the ELC will distribute developmentally appropriate books through its community outreach efforts, including the Educational Fleet and Sleep Baby Safely program. The gift will also help provide hands-on materials that support early learning routines, language development, and self-regulation in early childhood settings.
“We’re grateful for support that puts real resources in families’ hands,” said Darrell King, CEO for the ELC. “For many families, books and learning materials are not a given. The Suncoast Credit Union Foundation is investing in the kind of early start that shapes a child’s confidence and readiness for school, and we’re truly thankful to have them alongside us in that work.”
Suncoast Credit Union, Florida’s largest credit union, founded the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation to promote the education, health, and emotional well-being of children in the community. Each time a Suncoast member uses their debit or credit card, the credit union donates four cents to the Foundation to fund local initiatives. Since its inception in 1990, the Foundation has raised and donated over $55 million.
