The SunSky 10K will return to the Sunshine Skyway Bridge on March 21, 2027, giving runners and walkers another opportunity to cross one of Florida’s most recognizable landmarks on foot.
Registration for the 6.2-mile race is scheduled to open Monday, Oct. 5. The event typically draws participants for a course that takes them across the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, rising approximately 200 feet above the waters of Tampa Bay.
Beyond the unusual opportunity to run or walk across the bridge, the SunSky 10K serves as a fundraiser benefiting nonprofit organizations that support military members, veterans, first responders and their families.
Organizers say proceeds from registration will benefit six nonprofit organizations. The event has combined recreation and charitable giving since its launch, using the Skyway crossing to raise money and awareness for organizations serving those who serve their communities and country.
The Sunshine Skyway Bridge connects Manatee and Pinellas counties across Tampa Bay and is normally inaccessible to pedestrians, making the annual race a distinctive experience for participants.
Registration is expected to fill quickly after it opens Oct. 5. The 2027 SunSky 10K is scheduled for Sunday, March 21.
Additional information and registration details are available through the SunSky 10K website.
