Surveillance Video Released One Year After Bradenton Woman Killed in Driveway
Bradenton police have released new surveillance video in the unsolved killing of 43-year-old Yolanda Baxcajay-Flores, hoping it will generate new leads one year after she was fatally shot in her driveway.
The investigation began in November 2024 when officers responded to a shooting near 8th Avenue East and 24th Street East. At least 10 rounds were fired, damaging several homes and cars. Minutes later, a second shooting occurred less than two miles away on 15th Avenue East near 21st Avenue East, where more than 30 rounds were reportedly discharged.
Baxcajay-Flores had just returned home from grocery shopping when she was struck while sitting in her car. Officers attempted life-saving measures before EMS arrived, but she later died at the hospital. Investigators say they are confident she was not the intended target.
Newly released surveillance footage shows a vehicle parked near 14th Avenue and 21st Street East around 7:30 p.m., the timeframe of the second shooting. The video captures three individuals exiting the vehicle, running toward 15th Avenue East, and then returning before leaving the area.
Police continue to search for those responsible and are urging anyone with information to come forward. A $8,000 reward is being offered for tips that lead to an arrest. Information can be reported to the Bradenton Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
