Suspect Detained After Fatal Shooting at Bradenton Medical Complex

The Bradenton Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon at a medical complex in the 5200 block of 4th Avenue Circle East.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired at approximately 12:48 p.m. at an office within the complex that was later identified as a lab processing facility. Upon arrival, officers located two victims. One woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second one was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Witnesses provided information about a possible vehicle involved in the shooting. Police tracked the vehicle as it crossed the DeSoto Bridge and entered Palmetto. The vehicle was stopped at 1:12 p.m., and the driver was taken into custody and transported to the Bradenton Police Department for questioning.

Authorities emphasized that this is a developing situation and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
