Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting at Bradenton Medical and Office Complex; Victims Identified

The Bradenton Police Department has arrested a suspect in a deadly shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon at a medical and office complex in the 5200 block of 4th Avenue Circle East.
Police identified the suspect as Keith Roberts Jr., 29, who is charged with first-degree murder with a firearm and attempted first-degree murder with a firearm.
According to investigators, Roberts entered a suite of offices at the complex and fatally shot his ex-girlfriend, Myshaela Burnham, 29. Detectives said Roberts then fired at an office employee who witnessed the shooting. That victim was transported to a local hospital and remains hospitalized. Her name has not been released.
Multiple 911 callers reported seeing a vehicle leaving the scene shortly after the shooting. Investigators quickly determined the vehicle was traveling toward the DeSoto Bridge. With assistance from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office and the Palmetto Police Department, officers located and stopped the vehicle in Palmetto within approximately 25 minutes of the shooting.
Roberts was taken into custody without incident. He agreed to be interviewed by detectives with the Manatee Homicide Investigation Unit and was formally arrested shortly before 6 p.m.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing, and additional details will be released as they become available.
