Teen Suspects Arrested After Vehicle Burglaries in East Manatee Neighborhood
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents to lock their vehicles and remove valuables after a recent string of vehicle burglaries in the Fairways at Imperial Lakewoods neighborhood led to the arrest of multiple teenage suspects.
According to the sheriff’s office, several vehicles in the neighborhood were burglarized in recent days. The investigation began when a resident witnessed suspicious activity and promptly contacted law enforcement.
Deputies responded and launched a coordinated search involving patrol deputies, the Community-Oriented Policing Section (COPS), K-9 units and the Aviation Unit. The effort resulted in the arrest of all of the teenage suspects believed to be involved in the burglaries.
Authorities said the case is one of several recent vehicle burglary incidents reported across Manatee County. Law enforcement officials are urging residents to take simple precautions that can help prevent becoming a victim of crime.
The sheriff’s office advises residents to always lock their vehicles, remove valuables from sight and never leave keys, firearms or other important items inside unattended vehicles.
Officials noted that vehicle burglars often target unlocked cars and look for easy opportunities to steal cash, electronics, weapons and other valuables. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity immediately.
The sheriff’s office emphasized that criminals do not take weekends off and urged the community to make vehicle security a daily habit to help reduce opportunities for theft.
