Temporary Lift Station Installed as Part of Face It, Fix It Infrastructure Project
Work is underway on another major Face It, Fix It infrastructure project as crews install a temporary lift station at the intersection of Riverside Drive East and Crescent Court. The temporary system is needed to support the replacement of Lift Station 13, one of the oldest components of the City’s wastewater system.
Lift Station 13 has been in service since at least the 1950s and has reached the end of its useful life. City officials say the facility is beyond cost-effective repair, making a full replacement necessary to ensure continued reliability and protect public health.
The temporary lift station will allow wastewater service to continue uninterrupted while a permanent, relocated lift station is designed and constructed. Replacing infrastructure of this age requires careful planning and phased construction to minimize impacts to residents and businesses.
As part of this phase of work, Crescent Court is closed between Crescent Court East and Riverside Drive East now through February 9. Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes and follow posted detour signs while crews complete the installation.
The project is part of the City’s ongoing Face It, Fix It initiative, which focuses on addressing aging infrastructure and making long-term investments in essential services.
