Temporary Road Closures Scheduled in Downtown Palmetto for Mid-April
Drivers in downtown Palmetto should prepare for two temporary road closures taking place during the week of April 13, 2026, as the city accommodates utility work and a scheduled special event.
The first closure will impact 4th Street West between 8th and 9th Avenues West from April 15 through April 17. The temporary closure is necessary to allow crews to complete utility construction work in the area.
A second closure will affect 10th Avenue West between 6th and 7th Streets West beginning at 6 a.m. on April 18 and continuing through 8 p.m. on April 19. This closure is related to a permitted special event taking place nearby.
Both closures are expected to be short-term, but motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use alternate routes when possible. Residents and visitors traveling through the downtown corridor may experience minor delays during these periods.
City officials advise drivers to remain alert for posted signage and traffic control measures as crews work to complete the projects safely and efficiently.
