The Pops Orchestra Announces the Return of Sundays@Neel Concert Series
Additional Duke Ellington Performance Added Due to Sell-Out
The Pops Orchestra’s three-concert series, Sundays@Neel, is bringing audiences more of the music they love with the return of the popular concert series featuring guest performers. Designed for fans who enjoy fun, energetic, and exceptional musicians, the series features intimate concerts by acclaimed guest artists presented at the highest level of entertainment.
Due to overwhelming demand, the Pops Orchestra’s Essentially Ellington with Vince DiMartino and the Footnote Jazz Sextet concert on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. has sold out. In response, the Pops has added a second performance on the same date at 7:00 p.m. This double-header presentation will give audiences an additional opportunity to enjoy this highly anticipated jazz concert.

Essentially Ellington featuring Vince DiMartino and the Footbote Jazz Sextet
The Footnote Jazz Sextet features Vince DiMartino, one of the nation’s most sought-after trumpet performers and educators, whose career includes performances with Lionel Hampton and the Boston Pops. Joining him are Pete Barenbregge, former director of the U.S. Air Force Airmen of Note; David Pruyn, leader of The Fabulous Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra; and Greg Nielsen, trombonist with the Four Tops and Cab Calloway. Together, they bring Duke Ellington’s timeless jazz standards to life in a dynamic and unforgettable performance.
Rounding out the Sundays@Neel series is Coming Home: A Tribute to John Denver, featuring Tom Becker, former member of the legendary folk group The New Christy Minstrels. Becker captures the warmth, humor, and spirit of one of America’s most beloved singer-songwriters, performing favorites such as “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” “Annie’s Song,” “Thank God, I’m a Country Boy,” and “Rocky Mountain High.” The concert offers a heartfelt, nostalgic experience that celebrates John Denver’s music, message, and enduring legacy.

Coming Home: A Tribute to John Denver
“The Sundays@Neel concert series disappeared for a while, but The Pops Orchestra is proud to bring it back in full force,” said Robyn Bell, Managing & Artistic Director of The Pops Orchestra. “The sell-out of our first Ellington concert shows just how much our audiences love this series—and we’re thrilled to add this additional show for a ‘double-header’ of jazz music.”
Tickets for a single concert are $35 per person; those who purchase tickets to both the Essentially Ellington and John Denver concerts are $30 per person. Concerts take place at the SCF Neel Performing Arts Center, 5840 26th Street West, Bradenton.
