Things to Do in Manatee County: June 16–22, 2026
From free family festivals and nature classes to sports tournaments, pet events and community celebrations, Manatee County residents will have no shortage of activities during the week of June 15-22. Several organizations across Bradenton, Palmetto and Lakewood Ranch are hosting educational programs, appreciation nights, health clinics and Juneteenth celebrations designed to bring the community together.
Nature lovers can head to Palma Sola Botanical Park on June 17 for an iNaturalist class led by local volunteer Randy C., where participants will learn how to identify plants and wildlife using the popular smartphone app. The park’s Summer Fun Nature Classes continue throughout the summer with topics ranging from birding and botanical journaling to bonsai and tree biology.
Pet owners will have two opportunities to take advantage of free services at Bishop Animal Shelter in Bradenton. Manatee County Animal Welfare is offering free pet vaccinations and microchipping clinics on June 17 and June 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Appointments are required, and participation is limited to Manatee County residents.
Sports enthusiasts can register for the 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament scheduled for June 20 at IMG Academy in Bradenton. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and organizers are offering a free tablet to the first-place team. Food trucks and family-friendly activities are planned throughout the event.
The Bradenton Marauders will honor local heroes during First Responders Appreciation Night on June 19, recognizing law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel. The following evening, June 20, the team will host Military Appreciation Night, featuring a postgame concert by Derek Lersch as part of the club’s summer concert series.
History buffs can hear from Palmetto Mayor Daniel West during a guest speaker presentation at Palmetto Historical Park on June 17 from 11 a.m. to noon. The free event includes lunch and offers residents an opportunity to learn more about city initiatives and local history.
Animal lovers are invited to attend the ribbon-cutting and open house for the new Animal Welfare Resource Center on June 17 in Bradenton. The event will provide a first look at the facility and highlight services available to residents and pet owners.
Residents interested in federal politics will have an opportunity to hear directly from candidates seeking to represent Florida's 16th Congressional District during a candidate debate hosted by the Manatee Tiger Bay Club. The event is scheduled for June 17 at 5:30 p.m. at the Manatee Performing Arts Center in downtown Bradenton. The forum is expected to give voters a chance to learn where candidates stand on key issues ahead of the election. Admission is $10, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Manatee Performing Arts Center. A cash bar will also be available during the event.
Families looking for free summer fun can visit Eleanor’s on June 19 for a School’s Out Summer Bash featuring hot dogs, ice cream sandwiches, games, music and activities for all ages.
Juneteenth celebrations will take center stage on June 20 with multiple events across the county. The 2026 Manatee Juneteenth Community Festival Family Reunion will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Bradenton, featuring culturally inspired food, music, games, children’s activities, community resources and vendor booths. The event is organized by United Community Centers and R.E.C.E.S.S. Education Inc.
Also on June 20, the Mayors’ Feed the Hungry Program will host a Juneteenth celebration and food giveaway at Mount Raymond Full Gospel Baptist Church in Palmetto. The event will include a drive-through food pantry, free barbecue lunch, clothing and shoes distribution, and live entertainment.
Animal Welfare’s annual Adopt-A-Palooza celebration returns June 20 at the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau in Palmetto. The event marks the program’s 10th anniversary and will feature adoptable pets, children’s activities, K-9 demonstrations, pet resources, vendors and waived adoption fees with donations benefiting Friends of Manatee County Animal Welfare.
With educational opportunities, family entertainment, community celebrations and service events spread throughout the week, residents will find plenty of ways to stay engaged and connected across Manatee County as summer gets underway.
