Traffic Alert: Lane Shift and Temporary Closure at 17th Avenue West and 14th Street West
Motorists traveling through west Bradenton should plan for delays as roadway repaving work continues at the intersection of 17th Avenue West and 14th Street West.
A lane shift is currently in place at the intersection, with southbound traffic on 14th Street West reduced to one lane. In addition, 17th Avenue West is closed to through traffic between 14th Street West and 15th Street West while crews complete resurfacing work.
The temporary traffic changes are part of a scheduled repaving project and are expected to remain in effect through Friday, January 9. Digital message boards and on-site flaggers are directing drivers through the work zone and assisting with traffic flow.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible, follow posted signage, and allow extra travel time while the work is underway. Officials remind motorists to slow down and use caution when traveling through active construction areas.
