Traffic Alert: Road Closures Planned for 9th Avenue East and 12th Street East
Drivers are advised to plan ahead as sections of 9th Avenue East and 12th Street East will be closed beginning Wednesday, January 14, as part of a city drainage improvement project.
According to city officials, 9th Avenue East will be closed between 11th Street East and 14th Street East, while 12th Street East will be closed between 8th Avenue East and 9th Avenue East. The closures are expected to remain in place through Wednesday, February 4.
Advance warning signs have been posted in the area to alert motorists of the upcoming changes. Detours will be clearly marked, directing traffic to 7th Avenue East and 8th Avenue East as alternate routes.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the project, with flaggers on site to assist with safe crossings and movement around the construction area.
Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time, use caution when traveling near the work zone, and follow all posted signage throughout the project.
