Traffic Shift Begins for Upper Manatee River Road Widening Project
Beginning October 29, Manatee County will implement a traffic shift as part of the Upper Manatee River Road Widening Improvements Project. The changes will affect the stretch between the Fort Hamer Bridge and Upper Manatee River Road.
Officials emphasized that no lane closures are planned, but drivers are urged to use caution while traveling through the work zone. The project aims to enhance safety and accommodate future growth along the busy corridor.
As part of the new traffic pattern, the northern access point at Waterlefe, located at Winding Stream Way, will be limited to right-turn exits only. Motorists within Waterlefe who need to head north will need to use the main community entrance instead.
County officials thanked residents and commuters for their patience as crews continue work to improve one of the area’s key transportation routes.
