Tributes, Family Programs, and Community Celebrations Fill Manatee County Calendar
From ribbon-cuttings to family wellness programs, Manatee County is preparing for a full slate of events from September 8 to September 15, 2025. Residents will have opportunities to celebrate community milestones, honor local heroes, and enjoy live performances.
The week opens on Monday, September 8, with the ribbon-cutting for Synthetic Baseball Field #6 at Braden River Park. The ceremony begins at 7 p.m. and will highlight the county’s investment in upgraded recreational facilities for youth sports and the wider community.
On Wednesday, September 10, families are invited to the Soar in 4 Family Night at the Bishop Museum of Science and Nature from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The event connects families with hands-on learning activities, educational resources, and interactive exhibits designed to strengthen student success.
The community will gather on Thursday, September 11, for the Tribute to Heroes Memorial Service at Rossi Park on the Bradenton Riverwalk. Beginning at 9 a.m., the service will honor first responders, military personnel, and community heroes with a theme of remembrance and resilience.
Health and wellness take center stage on Saturday, September 13, when the Florida Department of Health in Manatee County hosts its Second Annual Healthy Families Day at the Desoto Boys & Girls Club from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Families attending can expect giveaways, workshops, and resources from local community organizations.
The Manatee Performing Arts Center will host several performances of Gutenberg! The Musical! throughout the week. Shows are scheduled for Wednesday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, September 11 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, September 12 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, September 13 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, September 14 at 2:00 p.m. The comedic production offers audiences an energetic and entertaining look at the story of the printing press with humor and heart.
The week closes on Monday, September 15, with Rollback Day at Anna Maria Oyster Bar. All locations will celebrate the restaurant’s 30th anniversary by rolling back menu prices to 1995, offering guests a chance to enjoy classic dishes at throwback prices.
