Turning Points Receives $25,000 Grant from Wilson-Wood Foundation to Support Prescription Assistance Program.
Turning Points is honored to announce it has received a $25,000 grant from the Wilson-Wood Foundation to support its Prescription Assistance Program (PAP). This funding will help ensure that uninsured and low-income adults in Manatee County, ages 18–64, have access to the life-saving medications they need.
The grant will specifically cover personnel costs for the PAP Advocate, who assists patients in navigating the often complex enrollment and renewal process required by pharmaceutical manufacturers. Through these programs, patients receive in-kind prescription donations that they would otherwise be unable to afford.
Over the past twelve years, the Turning Points Health Center has facilitated nearly $14 million in free medications for uninsured residents of Manatee County. In 2024 alone, 1,440 adults received 9,939 services at the Health Center, with nearly $1 million in prescriptions provided through PAPs. These medications are vital for treating chronic illnesses such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and respiratory conditions.
“With the support of the Wilson-Wood Foundation, we can continue to provide life-saving prescriptions to those who need them most,” said Kathleen Cramer, Executive Director. “This support gives our patients the chance to live healthier, more stable lives.”
Turning Points extends its deepest gratitude to the Wilson-Wood Foundation for its commitment to improving healthcare access for vulnerable individuals and families in Manatee County.
