Two Wins and Two Walk-Offs, Marauders Split Series with Blue Jays
Jauregui connects for second walk-off hit, Pimentel wins game two with two-run homer
The Bradenton Marauders (13-16, 44-50) secured two walk-off wins on Sunday against the Dunedin Blue Jays (14-15, 44-50), earning a split in the six-game series from LECOM Park. Cristian Jauregui’s RBI single notched a game one win, while Antonio Pimentel’s walk-off two-run homer collected a game two victory.
After the suspension on Saturday night, the Marauders and Blue Jays picked up game five of the series in the top of the sixth.
Tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Pimentel doubled and came around to score on a base hit from Jauregui to finalize a 2-1 win for Bradenton.
In game two, the Blue Jays began the scoring in the top of the third and the Marauders answered back in the bottom half of the inning. Johan De Los Santos singled, stole second, and moved third on a throwing error to put a runner in scoring position. A sacrifice fly from Edgleen Perez allowed De Los Santos to score and make ti 1-1. Richard Ramirez blasted a solo homer, putting Bradenton up 2-1.
Dunedin took a 3-2 lead with runs in the sixth and seventh innings, but Bradenton bounced back in the bottom of the seventh. Eddie King Jr. walked and Perez singled to put runners on first and third. Ramirez doubled, scoring King Jr. to make it 3-3.
Down 5-3 in the bottom of the ninth, the Marauders stormed back to win the game off Blue Jays reliever Josbel Garcia. Perez walked and Ramirez homered to tie the game 5-5. Brent Iredale singled and Pimentel socked a two-run blast to finalize a 7-5 win for Bradenton.
The Marauders take the day off Monday before beginning a six-game series on the road against the Daytona Tortugas.
