United Way Suncoast Launches "Go United," a Groundbreaking Digital Platform That Reimagines Philanthropy
New donor and volunteer portal helps individuals see, track and feel their impact
United Way Suncoast today announced the launch of Go United, a groundbreaking digital platform designed to transform how donors and volunteers connect with the organization and their community impact. The platform allows users to see their total giving, track volunteer hours, and visualize the collective difference they’ve made in the region - all in one place.
Go United represents a major step toward modernizing philanthropy. It offers a personalized digital experience that helps supporters stay engaged with United Way Suncoast even after changing jobs, moving to a new city or retiring from a workplace giving campaign - moments when many nonprofits traditionally lose contact with longtime donors.
“We realized that our relationships were built through the companies but not through the individuals themselves,” said United Way Suncoast Chief of Staff Heather Navratil, who helped lead the creation of the new platform. “So, United Way took a step back and asked, what can we do to reimagine that connection? What if we could engage people with United Way in a different way that is modern, digital and personal? Go United is a way to bring the United Way experience into the digital world and also build around the individual supporter.
“It’s about turning your generosity into something you can see and feel,” added Navratil. “It’s really more than just a receipt you get or a thank you note. It’s a living story of your impact.”
United Way Suncoast has worked for more than two years in bringing the concept to fruition, teaming with digital transformation partner RevStar earlier this year to resolve technical issues and create a portal that’s both functional and user-friendly.
“Go United is not just another donor platform,” said RevStar product manager Priya Rudrasas. “Most donor experiences are transactional. What Go United does is make that more relational. This platform reflects the impact and the heart of the work, which is people helping people.”
The platform is available now at UnitedWaySuncoast.org/GoUnited to anyone with a relationship - or interest- in connecting with United Way Suncoast. Once registered, users can view their volunteer history, giving history and the measurable community results of their contributions. It also provides access to stories, podcasts and resources that show how United Way Suncoast advances educational opportunity, financial security, and community resiliency across its five-county service area.
Unlike other donor systems that focus on single transactions, Go United centers on relationships and ongoing engagement. It was developed by United Way Suncoast after the organization asked to take the lead on an early concept initiated by United Way Worldwide several years ago. The platform’s potential has already generated interest from other United Way chapters across the country.
“The true vision behind this is a network platform where local United Ways can maintain their own identities, their own data, their own content, but everyone can benefit from the shared innovation we’re creating together,” added Navratil.
United Way Suncoast envisions future enhancements that will allow users to refer friends and family, connect with other local United Ways – including part-time residents who split their time between regions - and integrate with resources such as 211 for community assistance. The goal is to expand Go United nationwide by 2026, creating a digital network that mirrors the organization’s on-the-ground spirit of collaboration.
Through innovation and community connection, United Way Suncoast continues its mission to mobilize the community to action so all can thrive - because United We Rise, United We Win.

About United Way Suncoast
United Way Suncoast mobilizes communities to action for all. We give families and community members across our five-county footprint the “Freedom To Rise.” Founded in 1924, we enter our second century of service with a decided focus on uniting the region to generate support for hard-working families that stand one unexpected expense away from dire circumstance. We elevate early learning, energize middle school and high school youths and empower community members through financial security. We proudly serve Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota and DeSoto counties by investing in services and programs that help people create the lives they imagine for themselves. We enhance the community by addressing emerging needs such as natural disasters, and we expand the capacity of our nonprofits to help our impact ripple through the region. Along the way, we lead, convene and collaborate with corporate supporters, individual donors, nonprofit partners and valued volunteers because we know – United We Rise, United We Win.
