United Way Suncoast Marks 102nd Birthday With Community Celebration and Launch of 102 Days Of Impact Campaign
TAMPA, Fla. (January 5, 2026) — United Way Suncoast is marking its 102nd birthday this week with a public celebration, the launch of a community-wide service challenge, and a leadership transition that signals both continuity and momentum as the organization enters its next chapter. And if you need a morning energy boost to “R.I.S.E. up” and handle all of this, we’ve got that too.
The anniversary activities culminate in the launch of 102 Days Of Impact, a challenge inviting residents in United Way Suncoast’s five-county region to volunteer, give back and support local partner agencies while tracking their impact through United Way Suncoast’s new digital platform, Go United. The campaign officially begins Jan. 10, UWS’ official birthday, and runs through the spring. It concludes during the organization’s annual Week of Caring in April.
United Way Suncoast will kick off its birthday celebration on Jan. 8 with a public event at Blind Tiger Ybor, (1823 E. Seventh Ave., Tampa) from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. The celebration also brings back the RISE Roast Latte, the celebrated blend of hazelnut and white mocha available at the coffee shop’s seven Tampa locations throughout January. A portion of proceeds from the sale of each latte will benefit United Way Suncoast’s work across the region.
The birthday celebration also marks the final public appearance of Jessica Muroff, whose last day as United Way Suncoast’s president and CEO is Jan. 9. Muroff, who has led the organization since 2019, departs to become president and CEO of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County later this month.
“Leading United Way Suncoast through a period of tremendous challenge and opportunity has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” Muroff said. “This campaign reflects what this organization does best - bringing people together to create real, measurable impact in our community.”
Beginning Jan. 12, Bronwyn Beightol, United Way Suncoast’s current Chief Impact Officer, will assume the role of interim CEO, providing continuity as the organization conducts a national search for its next permanent leader with the help of search firm Winner Partners.
The 102 Days Of Impact campaign invites community members to engage in an act of impact, sign up for Go United, and earn a chance to win one of five $50 gift certificates from the 1905 Family Of Restaurants (Columbia, Ulele, Casa Santa Stefano, Cha-Cha Cocconuts). Acts of service may include volunteering, supporting community programs or completing individual acts of kindness. Once participants do that, they create a Go United account, then click the “My Connections” button on the left side of the Go United menu, and send an email to United Way Suncoast through the platform detailing their act of impact. After those steps, UWS will enter the participant’s name into a drawing for one of the five gift certificates.
Partner agencies across United Way Suncoast’s footprint of Hillsborough, Pinellas, Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto Counties are central to the campaign, offering volunteer opportunities that connect residents directly to the nonprofits addressing education, financial stability and community resiliency. Throughout the campaign, United Way Suncoast will share progress updates, highlight volunteers and partners and track community-wide impact through the Go United platform.
