Volunteers Sought for Great American Cleanup Across Manatee County
Keep Manatee Beautiful is seeking community volunteers to participate in the Great American Cleanup, a nationwide initiative that improves public spaces through hands-on environmental stewardship.
The cleanup will take place Saturday, March 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at multiple locations along the Manatee Avenue Causeway and Perico Island. Organized by Keep Manatee Beautiful in partnership with local community organizations, the event aims to remove litter and debris, protect local waterways, and enhance shared outdoor spaces.
Volunteers may choose from several cleanup options, including a water-based cleanup for those bringing their own kayaks or paddlecraft, a beach cleanup at Kingfish Boat Ramp, a causeway cleanup at Palma Sola Causeway, or a roadside cleanup at Neal Preserve.
Volunteer check-in begins at 9:00 a.m., and cleanup runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Cleanup supplies will be provided, and lunch will be available for all registered participants following the event.
Advance registration is encouraged. Additional details and registration information are available at ManateeBeautiful.com.
