Wandering Book Club Combines Reading, Wellness, and the Outdoors
Readers looking to blend literature, light movement, and community connection have a new opportunity through the Manatee County Sports & Leisure and Wellness Wandering Book Club. Offered in partnership with the Manatee County Library, the monthly program brings participants together for guided outdoor experiences paired with thoughtful book discussions centered on mental and physical well-being.
The Wandering Book Club is designed to move beyond traditional indoor book groups by meeting at scenic parks and community facilities across Manatee County. Each gathering encourages participants to explore wellness themes through literature while enjoying time in nature, gentle walking, and shared conversation. The format supports both active lifestyles and meaningful social interaction, creating a relaxed and inclusive environment for readers of all backgrounds.
Upcoming sessions are scheduled for Feb. 20 at Hidden Harbor, March 13 at John Marble Recreation Center, and April 10 at Parrish Community Park. Each location offers a unique outdoor setting that complements the program’s focus on mindfulness, movement, and connection.
Registration is required; additional details are available on the Manatee County Library’s online events calendar. For more information, residents may also contact the library system directly at 941-723-4821.
