Water Main Project Prompts Multiple Road Closures in West Bradenton
Drivers in West Bradenton should prepare for traffic changes as a water main installation project brings multiple road closures and lane restrictions beginning January 6 and continuing through January 23, 2026.
The project will require the full closure of 13th Avenue West between 3rd Street West and 1st Street West, as well as 2nd Street West between 12th Avenue West and 13th Avenue West. In addition, the left-turn lane on 1st Street West/South Tamiami Trail at 13th Avenue West will be closed during construction.
Detours are in place and will route traffic along nearby streets. Officials note that advance warning signage has been posted since before the holidays to help drivers plan alternate routes and minimize disruption.
Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time, follow posted detour signs, and use caution when traveling through the area while crews install the water main.
