West Manatee Fire Rescue to Host Family-Friendly Open House With Sensory-Safe Hour
West Manatee Fire Rescue will welcome the community to a free open house on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its station located at 407 67th St. W. in Bradenton. The event is designed to give residents an up-close look at fire rescue operations while offering a full day of activities for families and children.
An optional sensory-safe hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. for guests on the autism spectrum or those who prefer a calmer environment. During this time, all activities will be available with reduced crowds and a quieter, more sensory-friendly atmosphere.
The open house will feature bounce houses, a wrecking ball attraction, face painting, and a live DJ with a designated dance area for kids. Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour fire engines, a ladder truck, a fire boat, and the station itself, and to take part in a kids’ combat challenge.
Food and refreshments will be provided at no cost, including pizza, barbecue, hot dogs, and drinks, while supplies last. The event is supported by a variety of community partners and sponsors.
The open house is open to the public and intended to provide a fun, educational experience while strengthening connections between first responders and the community they serve.
