West Manatee Fire Rescue to Host Wave for Water Safety Event at Manatee County Public Beach
West Manatee Fire Rescue invites the community to participate in a water safety awareness event aimed at preventing drownings across Manatee County. The Wave for Water Safety gathering will be held Saturday, March 14, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Manatee County Public Beach, located at 4000 State Road 64 and Gulf Drive.
The event encourages residents to stand together in support of drowning prevention by holding signs, spreading awareness, and reinforcing the importance of water safety. Participants will have the opportunity to join firefighters and community members in delivering a unified message about the simple but critical steps that can save lives.
Organizers are emphasizing that swim lessons are a key factor in reducing the risk of drowning, especially for children. Active supervision around water and personal responsibility when visiting beaches, pools, and other waterways are also central themes of the campaign.
With warmer weather approaching and beach activity increasing along Anna Maria Island and throughout Manatee County, first responders are reminding families that water safety starts with preparation, vigilance, and education. The Wave for Water Safety event aims to build awareness and strengthen community involvement in protecting residents and visitors alike.
