West Manatee Firehouse Hosts Community Open House with Family-Friendly Festivities
The West Manatee Fire & Rescue District welcomed the community to its firehouse for an engaging and educational Open House on Saturday, February 8, 2025. Held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Station 1, located at 407 67th St W, the event brought together families, firefighters, and local residents for a day of interactive experiences and entertainment.
The open house featured an array of activities designed to entertain and educate attendees of all ages. Children enjoyed bounce houses, a wrecking ball attraction, and a Kids Combat Challenge that allowed them to experience the excitement of fire rescue training. A live DJ kept energy levels high with music and dancing, while face painters transformed young visitors with colorful designs.
Visitors had the opportunity to tour the fire station and explore emergency response vehicles, including fire engines, ladder trucks, and fire boats. Firefighters were on hand to answer questions, share safety tips, and demonstrate the vital work they perform to keep the community safe.
To keep guests fueled throughout the event, complimentary food and drinks were provided, including Domino’s pizza, barbecue, hot dogs, and a variety of refreshments.
The event served as both a celebration of the fire department’s service and a chance for the public to connect with first responders in a relaxed setting. West Manatee Fire & Rescue District continues to foster strong community ties through outreach events, reinforcing its commitment to safety and education.
For information about future events or fire safety resources, residents are encouraged to visit the district’s website or contact the station directly.
