The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a woman was found dead behind a Bradenton-area home Monday afternoon in what detectives are treating as a suspicious death.
The woman was discovered at approximately 2:15 p.m. behind a residence in the 700 block of 59th Avenue East, near 301 Boulevard East.
According to the sheriff’s office, the woman’s body was in an advanced state of decomposition when it was discovered.
Detectives are working to determine the woman’s identity as well as the circumstances surrounding her death. Authorities have not released information about how long they believe the body had been at the location or whether investigators have identified any signs of foul play.
The sheriff’s office has not released additional details about the investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional information is expected to be released as detectives work to identify the woman and determine the cause and manner of her death.
