Workforce Workshop in Bradenton Aims to Prepare Job Seekers for Hiring Events
A workforce development workshop designed to help job seekers build confidence and employment skills will take place on March 31 at Manatee Elementary School in Bradenton.
The event, titled Workforce Workshop Kick Off: Your Pathway to a Great Career, will run from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the school located at 1609 6th Avenue East. Breakfast will be available beginning at 8:00 a.m. in the Parent Resource Center for attendees.
The hands-on workshop focuses on preparing materials and presenting oneself to potential employers. Participants will receive guidance on creating a polished résumé tailored to targeted jobs and will learn strategies for introducing themselves confidently during hiring conversations.
Organizers say the session is designed to help attendees identify their career goals, highlight personal strengths, and develop a clear elevator pitch that can be used when meeting employers. The goal is to ensure participants leave feeling prepared and confident to pursue employment opportunities.
The workshop also serves as preparation for the upcoming Best Florida Jobs Power Hour Hiring Events. These events allow job seekers to connect directly with employers, explore job opportunities, and practice the skills learned during the workshop in a real-world environment.
Participants are encouraged to bring a personal laptop if available, though laptops will also be provided for use during the workshop. Seating is limited and advance registration is required.
Additional hiring events connected to the program will take place in the Tampa area on April 2 at the T. Pepin Hospitality Centre, April 8 and 9 at the Tampa Convention Center, April 15 and 16 at HCC The Regent in Riverview, and April 23 at the HCC Trinkle Center in Plant City.
The initiative is presented through a partnership that includes Best Florida Jobs, Children’s Home Society of Florida, Workforce Development Partners, and the School District of Manatee County. The program aims to help individuals develop practical job-seeking skills and expand their professional networks as they pursue meaningful employment.
